[Welcome to the SMiLE.dk Fansite!] This fansite dedicated to the
music group SMiLE.dk. Their mission is to entertain and create
happiness through their catchy lyrics, upbeat sounds, and sensitive ballads. They are a
Swedish dance/pop group that has consisted of 5 members over time:
Veronica, Cecilia, Hanna, Malin, and Nina.
Despite what the group name suggests, the members are not Danish; they
are all from Sweden. They were signed by EMI in Denmark and to avoid misunderstandings
regarding a Japanese band also named “Smile” the record company added .dk, hence
the ".dk" tag. I originally created this website in 2005 for all the SMiLE.dk fans out there. I wanted to create a place that contained all the information about this wonderful group, whether it be from the past or present. I hope you all enjoy looking around and find this information to be useful! A little info about the members: Veronica has been with SMiLE.dk since the very beginning. She has been singing and dancing since a very young age. She was formerly in the Swedish group Look Twice, where she was accompanied by two male rappers: “Wincent” and “Crazy G”. In 1998 she helped create the music group SMiLE and has continued to work hard at it ever since. Cecilia is the newest member of SMiLE.dk and will be working with Veronica on the "Make up Album 2010". Hanna worked with Veronica on the album Party Around the World. She is a young singer and songwriter from southern Sweden. She started her career in a church choir at age six and has continued singing and performing ever since. She loves to spread joy and to give people warmth and strength in her songs. She has done everything from solo performances to different kinds of shows and has been with some of the best vocal coaches in Sweden. She has also done backing vocals for the worldwide artist Pandora. Hanna decided to leave the Smile project in 2010 due to changing priorities in her life. Malin is also a former member of SMiLE.dk. She and Veronica met each other in 1994 but it was not until 1999 that they started working together. They made 3 CDs together: Future Girls, Smile Paradise, and Golden Sky. Malin also recorded some tracks on Party Around the World and remade Butterfly with Veronica in 2009. Nina is a former member of SMiLE who worked with Veronica on their first CD. However, in 1999 she left the group to pursue a solo career. |
